Eva was born Aug. 2, 1911, the third of 10 children to George and Elizabeth Zentner. She attended country school near Timmer. Eva was baptized and made her first communion at St. George's Church in Timmer. She met the loved of her life, Nick Glaser, and they were married on Nov. 25, 1930. Together they had 10 children. Nick passed away June 26, 1957, at the early age of 53. At that time, there was only one grandchild in their family, since then there are 37 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Eva loved to make German food for the family and she was a great baker. Her other joys were to embroider and to sew. Being with her family was her greatest joy and so being able to travel brought her much happiness. Her last big trip was last year, Sept. 14, 2008, to Las Vegas to see her son Larry and her daughter Angie and she reminisced of it often lately.
Eva is survived by her daughters, Barbara Anderson, Breckenridge, Minn., Angie (Richard) Lopez, Bakersfield, Calif., Darlene Glaser, Bismarck, and Marlys (Michael) Bowden, Bismarck; her sons, Casper (Leona), Bismarck, Don, Bismarck, Bill (Phyllis), Mandan, Larry (Sheila), Henderson, Nev., and Marvin (Mary), Houston; 37 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-granchildren; her brothers, Mike (Dorothy) Zentner and Jack (Dorothy) Zentner, both of Bismarck; her sisters, Maggie Janachechitis, Selah, Wash., Katherine (Jerry) Schlickenmeyer, Lewistown, Mont., and Ann Zentner, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; her son, George; her two great-grandsons, Jason Koth and Galen Tokach; her son-in-law, Marvin Anderson; her parents, Elizabeth and George Zentner; her mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Ludwig Glaser; her sisters, Rose Heidt, Betty Vogel and Minnie Stein; and her brothers, Joe and Frank Zentner.
Our Mom, Grandma and Sister has been a great inspiration to all of us and we her family will miss her greatly!
Eva's granddaughter, Jennifer Lynch, curious about the meaning of her grandma's name, found the origin of Eva is Hebrew and translates to mean life-giving, and the way Eva lived her life is truly an example of the meaning of her name.
