Born June 25, 1909 to John and Lydia Freeman of Safford, Arizona, youngest of 10 children. Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Stewart Aspen, a noted Hollywood musician and educator. A petite beauty, she was a dynamic leader in civic affairs. Years of outstanding volunteer work resulted in a 25 yr. career as head of Public Relations for L.A. Tenth District P.T.A. As representative to L.A. Board of Education, she was widely respected. She was a member of First Congregational Church. An active member of Hollywood Hilltoppers Republican Club, her favorite office was Legislative Chairman. In 1990, upon moving to Dallas, TX to be near her only daughter, she continued that office in Northwood Republican Womans Club. She was awarded a Lifetime Membership in Texas Federation of Republican Women. Surviving family include her daughter, Beth Willcockson Braziller and husband Paul of Dallas, TX; grandsons Dr. Wm. Willcockson and wife Helen of Chapel Hill, N.C., Jeffrey Brent Willcockson of Breckenridge, Colorado, Gregory Alan Willcockson and wife Selina of Ft. Worth, TX; three great granddaughters Lani, Kara, and Kendra Willcockson; and extended family Mark and Kim Doyle; Katy Doyle; John and Sara Walker. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 3:30 P.M. at Wildwood Chapel, Restland of Dallas, Dr. Russell Dilday officiating. Published in the Los Angeles Times on 7/9/2004.
