Alma Heupel

Alma Heupel, 85, Wishek, N.D., died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek.
Alma Burlack was born June 8, 1921, at Burnstad, N.D., the daughter of Philip and Fredericka (Ritter) Burlack. She grew up and attended school in the Burnstad area. She married Roy F. Heupel on Feb. 20, 1943, at Raton, N.M. They lived and farmed in the Burnstad area. They moved into Wishek in 1959. She worked at Wishek Community Hospital as a cook. In 1962, they moved to Edgeley, N.D., where she cooked at the cafe. In 1967, they moved to New Brighton, Minn., where she worked for a nursing home for 19 years. He died in 1995. In 2002, she moved to Wishek Retirement Apartments, Wishek. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Liaine), Mora, Minn., Dennis (Debra), Bismarck, N.D., Duwayne, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Orien, Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Marion Vossler and Eileen Ketterling, both Wishek, and Erma Zavilowitz, Mount Rose, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and a sister.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.
Burial: Fort Snelling Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn.
