Scherer, 88, of Olney, died 12:10 p.m. Thursday Oct. 12, 1989 in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL. Services at Trinity Lutheran Church, Olney with Rev. Charles W. Koester presiding. Burial at Crest Haven. Mrs. Scherer was born in Richland County, April 5, 1901, the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (Burgener) Fritschle. She married Roscoe J. Scherer March 28, 1923 in Richland county and he preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1989. She was a former teacher in Richland County School systerms. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Olney and a member of the Oak Ridge Community Club. Survivors include four sons: Junior M., Eugene H., Howard W. and Lee D. all of Olney; three daughters: Mrs. Austin (Bernadine) Dasch, Noble, Mrs. Paul (Velma) VonAlmen, Hamilton, Ohio and Mrs. Dan (Arlene) Parr, East Peoria, Ill.; one sister: Alice Boley, Olney; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, two brothers and one grandson.
