Robert John Boespflug, age 80, of Glendive, died Thursday, August 7, 2003 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive, Montana.
A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 11, 2003 in the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 12, 2003 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Glendive with Father Joseph Ponessa officiating. Rite of Committal with military honors will be in the Dawson County Cemetery. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Bob was born on May 12, 1923 in Dickinson, North Dakota the son of John and Beatrice (Rice) Boespflug. He received his education in Dickinson schools before moving to Medora, North Dakota where he was employed by the Civilian Conservation Corp. Bob moved to Glendive in 1941 where he worked for Mac's Tire Store until entering the United States Army. Bob served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. On November 30, 1946 Bob married Helen Seeberger in Glendive. They made their home in Glendive until the time of his death. Upon his return home from the military, Bob started working for the Northern Pacific Railroad where he remained until his retirement in 1984. Bob was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1125, the American Legion, Elks Lodge #1324, the United Trainmen Retirees, and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jean and Bonnie, and one brother Leo.
Survivors include his wife Helen of Glendive, Montana; one daughter, Jane Dalbey and her husband Daniel of Billings, Montana; two sons, Dale Boespflug and his wife Pamela, of Great Falls, Montana, and Steve Boespflug and his wife Laurie of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Leonora Corvi and her husband Joe of San Francisco, California; four grandchildren, Jeff and Jennifer Boespflug of Great Falls, Montana, and Lisa and Ana Boespflug of Omaha, Nebraska.
