Gregory Bevirt Gregory Allen Bevirt, 58, born June 26, 1947, in Oakland, Calif., died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, in Papillion, Neb. Mr. Bevirt was a graduate of Althoff Catholic High School, and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He received his MBA from Creighton University in Omaha. He spent four years in the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Bevirt retired from the Department of Housing and Urban Development as Director of Community Planning and Development. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Allen Bevirt; and his brother, Jeffrey Hugh Bevirt. Surviving are his wife, Ginny, nee Bauer, whom he married Dec. 18, 1971; a son, Jeff and his girlfriend Kristi Roy; his mother, Shirley R., nee Dahm, Bevirt of Belleville, Ill.; three sisters, Dianne (Robert) Pierce, Nancy (Michael) Kovack of Newburgh, Ind., and Lois Jean Bevirt of Belleville, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum for Ingham Upkeep, 40 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464-4377 or Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home, 156th Street & Maple Road, Omaha, Neb. 68134. Visitation: Friends had called Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Bethany Funeral Home, LaVista, Neb. A prayer service would have been held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
