Florence DahmFlorence E. Dahm, nee Biebel, 85, of Freeburg, Ill., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born April 28, 1923, in Belleville, Ill., died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at her residence. Mrs. Dahm was a former secretary for Biebel Brothers Roofing Co., St. Louis, MO, and founder of Jackson Square Inns in 1950. She also operated a cattle farm for 20 years in Freeburg, Ill. Florence was a 1941 graduate of The Academy of Notre Dame and attended Lindenwood College. She was a Judge of Elections in St. Clair County, a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, and a member of Daughters of Isabella Circle 329. Florence, known as "Nana" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was an especially loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the cornerstone of the family and with her love for cooking and pleasing others it was easy to keep everyone close. We will deeply miss you. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard P. Dahm, who died March 1, 1974, and Harry Defenbaugh, who died June 13, 2001; her son, Richard G. Dahm, who died Aug. 15, 2001; her parents, Al M. and Emily, nee Fournie, Biebel; her sister, Helen Mae Davis; and son-in-law, Edmond A. Curley. Surviving are her daughter, Emelee J. Curley of Belleville, Ill.; her son, Jon (Joan) Dahm of Belleville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Zachary S. Dahm, Jeremy M. (Stacy) Dahm, and Cpt. Justin M. Curley, M.D.; two great-grandchildren, Crystal and Blake Dahm; and her brother, Harold C. (Betty) Biebel of Chesterfield, Mo.Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Deacon Robert Lanter officiating, followed at 4:30 p.m. by a Daughters of Isabella Circle 329 ritual. Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 10:40 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Fr.
