Clementine "Clem" Perschke, 83, Center, died July 12, 2009, at Elm Crest Manor Nursing Home, New Salem, following a six-year struggle with Parkinson's disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Center, with the Rev. Amalraj Roche officiating. Burial will be in Center Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Elm Crest Manor, New Salem, and from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church in Center, where a rosary followed by a parish vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Clementine Hoffman was born March 10, 1926, in rural Oliver County, the daughter of Peter and Josephine (Ferderer) Hoffman. Raised and educated in the area, she married Gordon "Bud" Perschke on Nov. 27, 1951, in Center.
Clem was a lifetime and devoted member of St. Martin's Catholic Church and had also been an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
A lady whose hands were seldom idle, she enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting, gardening and playing cards. Her life centered around her husband and five daughters and later, their husbands, children and grandchildren.
Clem is survived by her husband, Bud, Center; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Lee Wolf and Annette and Stacy Vojacek, all of Center, Paulette and Tom Staigle, Glendive, Mont., Lynette and Myron Erhardt, Center, and Mary and John Woodley, Lewisburg, Ky.; her 12 grandchildren, Jody Wolf, Jamie (Stephanie) Wolf, Becky and John Vojacek, Ryan (Amy) Vojacek, Michael and Tyler Staigle, Dustin, Dillon and Lane Erhardt, Casey (Nicole) Thompson and Erik (Erica) Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Camron Thompson, Riley Wolf and Nicholas Vojacek; her sisters and brother-in-law, Magdeline Freidig, Bismarck, and Leocadia "Lakey" Weiss and Katherine and Robert Perschke, all of Center; and her brother, Leo Hoffman, Wichita Falls, Texas.
Clem was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Rose Schneider; and her brother, John Hoffman.
