A Memorial Mass for Edward J. Boes, 82, of 14490 Township Highway 27, Carey, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, the Rev. Regis Schlagheck OFM Conv. officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be private.
Mr. Boes died at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 19, 1921 in Mansfield to Fred and Cecelia (Theis) Boes. He married Marie T. Neff on May 1, 1948 at Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Robert (Nancy) and Bernie (Lauri), both of Carey; and Jon (Theresa) of North Lewisburg; four daughters, Anne (Paul) Mulcahy, Bowie, Md.; Jean (Robert) Mitsch, Carey; Mary Lou (Tom) Yarch, Sellersburg, Ind.; and Betty (Curt) Gottfried, Upper Sandusky; a sister, Mary Kreinbrink, Findlay; 24 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Boes was a self-employed milk hauler for 30 years and retired in 1987 from Guardian Industries, Upper Sandusky, after 12 years of employment.
He was a 1939 graduate of New Riegel High School and a member of Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Carey Council 1925 and Wyandot County Farm Bureau. He also bowled in the Wednesday night league at Mt. Idy Lanes for many years.
Memorials may be made to church masses or Our Lady of Consolation School, Carey, in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, 43316.
