Skinner, 86, former resident of Broughton Avenue, Marietta, went to be with her Lord on Thursday (Sept. 23, 2010) at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Stewart, Ohio. She was born on June 13, 1924, in Newport, a daughter of Howard and Nettie Burkhart Mendenhall. She was a homemaker, and during WWII, worked at American Viscose and later at Marietta Times. She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. On July 8, 1941, she married Harold Skinner who preceded her in death on July 15, 2008. She is survived by two sons, Richard Skinner and his wife, Terry, of Stewart and David Skinner of Devola; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronald; grandson, Keith Davis; two brothers; and two sisters. The family would like to thank Appalachian Nursing for their care and concern. Funeral services will be held on Monday (Sept. 27) at 1:30 p.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.
