My mother, Constance, ashes were spread, as promised, along with my father Louis Vern Silliman and my brother Lawrence Charles Silliman ashes, on her much beloved farm (Putneyville Rd, New Bethlehem, Pa) on Aug 31st in a small ceremony at dusk while Norman Greenbaum "Spirit in the Sky" played in the background, as promised. In attendance on that beautiful eve was Sandy and Alan Bright, Paul (Bucky) and Kathy Dudek. And, of course, myself, the person that promised her that her final wishes would be held to heaven. ( As per Kathy Basar, her daughter)
Constance Silliman, New Bethlehem, formerly of Freeport
Constance O'Donnell Silliman, 66, of New Bethlehem, formerly of Freeport, passed away peacefully at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin.
Mrs. Silliman was born in Russellton on Aug. 31, 1938.
A housewife, she enjoyed animals, farming, cooking and baking. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Inez McBee O'Donnell of Somerset; her son, Louis V. (Lorrie) Silliman of Freeport; her daughter, Kathy Basar of Freeport; grandchildren Samantha Silliman and Emily Pieffer, both of Freeport; sister, Mary Jane Holden of Illinois; and brothers, Michael O'Donnell and Robert O'Donnell, both of Meyersdale.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles O'Donnell, Sr.; her husband Louis V. Silliman, Sr.; a son Lawrence Charles Silliman; and a brother Charles O'Donnell Jr.
Frienda and family are being welcomed on Tuesday, March 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC., 524 High Street, Freeport, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23. Officiating will be her nephew, Rev. Gerald Pawloski of Bairdford United Methodist Church in West Deer. Memorial donations may be made to the Orphans of the Storm Inc., Armstrond County Animal Sheltzer, R.R. 8, Kittanning, PA 16201.
