William G. Tonet, 82, of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.
He was born June 5, 1926, in Beluno, Italy, the son of the late Silvio and Angelina Argenta Tonet.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army as a military police sergeant.
He retired in 1985 from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge with more than 30 years of service as a senior design engineer.
He was a member of Our Lady of the most Blessed Sacrament Roman Cathloic Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights, the M.O.R.A. Club and was a volunteer at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for many years.
He enjoyed bowling, model railroading and loved animals.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Penny) Tonet, of Leechburg; grandchildren, Seth (Amanda) Tonet, Levi Tonet and Sarah (Craig) Boley; great-granddaughter Elliana Tonet; and brother, Nelson (Delores) Tonet, of Wexford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Jane (Silliman) Tonet, on July 30, 2003, and his sister, Irene Makuta.
