Clifford E. "Cliff" Silliman, 77, of Lower Burrell died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 20, 2001) at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison, after a six-month illness.
Born June 4, 1924, in Tarentum, he lived in Lower Burrell for 45 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the Navy Seabees.
He was a 1943 graduate of Tarentum High School.
Mr. Silliman was a foreman in the shipping department of Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Brackenridge Works, where he worked 35 years before retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Trinity United Christian Church, Lower Burrell, and Harrison Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Silliman enjoyed all sports and was a fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Geraldine R. Hailes Silliman; three sons, Michael E. Silliman of Arnold, David A. Silliman of New Kensington and C. Neal Silliman of Lower Burrell; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Phillipine Weber Silliman, and two brothers, Howard and William Silliman.
Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum. There will be no visitation Thanksgiving Day. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until services at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Larry O. Toney, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Full military honors will be accorded by the Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars.
