She was a retired nurses aide and formerly worked at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital as well as Bridgeport Health Care. Her husband, Joseph Abernathy, is deceased. Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Abernathy of Bridgeport; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted at Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Dale Roberts officiating.
