Anthony "Gerry" Chilzer, of Monessen, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born April 28, 1944, in Wheeling, W. Va., a son of John W. and Elizabeth Bremer Chilzer Jr., Mr. Chilzer was Catholic by faith. He was retired from US Steel National Works in McKeesport and recently retired from Wal Mart. He also worked for many years as an electrical general contractor. Gerry was a past fire chief for Carroll Township and was also a volunteer fireman in Glassport and served in several municipalities as an EMT. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and musician as well. He is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Matt) Chilzer Felicetty Bell, of Elizabeth Township, Maria (Ronald) Fedor, of Clairton, and Theresa (Randy) Troy, of Elizabeth Township; seven grandchildren, Marijana Budovalcev, Cody Hohl, Emily Felicetty, Brittany Bell, Samantha and Nathan Fedor and Randy Troy; six brothers, John, Joe, George, Tom, Timothy and David; two sisters, Maryanne Frye and Susan Chilzer; and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, in the MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the funeral home towards funeral expenses or to the Carroll Township or Glassport Volunteer Fire Departments.
