Fannie H. Landvater, 92, formerly of Mill Road, Elizabethtown, died unexpectedly of natural causes Wednesday morning at the Mennonite Home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Landvater also was the secretary/bookkeeper of her husband's plumbing and heating business for more than 44 years.
She was a member of Strickler Mennonite Church, Middletown, where she belonged to the sewing circle.
An avid needlecrafter, she crocheted an afghan and sewed a quilt for each of her 28 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also sewed and quilted for Mennonite relief auctions and school sales.
Born in Conoy Township, she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Susan Longenecker Hess.
Her husband, Jacob R. Landvater, died in 1996.
Surviving are three sons, David R., married to Delores H. Landvater of Halifax, James H., married to Janet M. Landvater of Hershey, and Kenneth R., married to Audrey J. Landvater of Mount Joy; a daughter, Ruthanne L., married to Robert L. Herr of Hershey; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry L. Hess; and two sisters, Emily Spitler and Sueie Ebersole.
