Her mother was Mary Jane (Smelcer) Gwinn who was born March 1851 Kentucky. 1900 United States Federal Census they are living Johnson County, Missouri in the town of Kingsville. Ida was a school teacher. 1901 she moved out to Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon to teach school. Moving the next year to Sprague, Lincoln County, WA where she also taught school. She married John Joseph Oldenburg 11 February 1904 Spokane, Spokane County, WA. She had cancer and passed way at the Spokane Sacred Heart Hospital.
