Birth: May 23, 1895 Velykokomarivka Odes'ka, Ukraine Death: May 10, 1970 Lehr McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Bio by Elaine (Becker) MORRISON – Magdalena BECKER was born 23 May 1895 in Kassel, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia. Magdalena with her parents and four siblings immigrated to America sailing on the 4th April 1899 from Bremen, Germany to Ellis Island, New York, arriving on the 21 April 1899 aboard the SS "Lahn". The family first went to Eureka, McPherson, South Dakota and one year later moved to Logan County, North Dakota. Magdalena BECKER married John Albert KAUK on the 29th of February 1916 on the family farm 5 miles northwest of Lehr, McIntosh County, North Dakota. The couple was blessed with 10 children; Emil, Esther, Arthur, Albert, Hilda, Magdalena, Laurence, Bernhard, Mildred and Harry.
