- [S927] Obituary.
Doris (Dorie) was born in 1926 in Ipswich, South Dakota. She had one older sisterand one younger brother. With a nice small town lifestyle and great friends and family, South Dakota was a fun place to grow up. Earlier in life, Dorie’s mom even dated Lawrence Welk, as he played at the barn dances around the area. Dorie attended South Dakota University where she met her husband to be, Andrew Aisenbrey. After college, they decided to take the next step in life and move to Denver, Colorado, marrying on July 27th 1949. Andy started his job in Denver as an engineer at the Bureau of Reclamation as Dorie started her new job as a teacher. Dorie even had one of the great Littleton family friends, Jose Trujillo, as a student in high school. Dorie was a great mother, great teacher, great provider, great wife and great grandmother. There is one thing I think we will all remember about Dorie, she never quit smiling. She was an amazing lady in every way!
Dorie and Andy had three children, Gary, Mary Kay, and Thomas and one granddaughter, Katy. Dorie and Thomas shared the same birthday and had a great time spending several of their birthdays in Hawaii. Dorie was active in many organizations around town including the Tule Lakes Club, Bridge groups, PEO, and Swimming and Exercise at ACC and the Buck Center. She was a skilled seamstress and knitter and could cook anything you wanted like it was from a five star restaurant.
Dorie changed the lives of many in her path, as she was as gentle and caring as anyone you could ever meet! She was a true friend and will be missed by all that knew her.
