Assured in his 1896 ordination photo, "Father Eberle", Leonhard Eberle, was a Landau parish priest "from 7 December 1897 through 10 October 1912" [quoted from book Witnesses for Christ, by Helmut Moll], assigned in the area of Karlsruhe, Halbstadt and Schoenfeld. [Marguerite says he is not a family relative.] "Deacon Leonhard Eberle was born on 28 October 1870 at Rastadt, [Beresan District] Odessa." [Verified by Dr. Anton Bosch, Nurenburg, Germany, in 2002, from a group portrait of church clergy. This particular photo is from the Jolenta Fischer Masterson Collection, GRHC, Fargo.] "Ordained to priesthood in 1896, he was assigned to community of Schoenfeld (Gschar) of Landau parish", [Beresan District] for fifteen years." Eberle Leonard s. Jana (1870 1896 1931 ?). Ur. 28.10 we wsi Rastadt w obw. chersonskim. Nalezal do diec. tiraspolskiej. Byl absolwentem seminarium duch. w Saratowie, proboszczem, dziekanem i kanonikiem honor. kapituly tiraspolskiej. Od 7.12.1897 do 12.10.1912 pracowal jako vicarius expositus (z prawami proboszcza) par. Schönfeld. Od 20.10.1912 byl administratorem, a nast. proboszczem i dziekanem dek. Kamienka w gub. saratowskiej. Pozostawal tam jeszcze w 1928. Aresztowany w 1929 i 2.12 tr. skazany przez Sad Lud. NPASSR z art. 61 KK RSFSR na 3 lata zeslania do obw. uralskiego. Decyzja Sadu Najwyzszego NPASSR z 25.06.1930 zwolniony przedterminowo z zeslania. Ponownie aresztowany 12.07 tr. Wieziony byl na Butyrkach w Moskwie. W grupowym procesie kilkunastu ksiezy niem. z Powolza w sprawie antysow. i kontrrew. dzialalnosci stworzonego tam w 1917 Katolickiego Zwiazku Narodowego (Volksverein) zostal 20.04.1931 przez Kolegium OGPU skazany na 5 lat lagrów (sformulowanie zarzutów zob. biogramy ks.
