Gauck, 91, Greensburg, died at 10:14 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in Decatur County Hospital in Greensburg. Born, August 22, 1913 in Morris, Indiana, he was the son of Harry P. and Clara (Walsman) Gauck. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church, a life member of the Greensburg Knights of Columbus and a member of the Rural Couples Club. He was married to Ruth A. Wenning on August 24, 1940 and she survives. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Gauck; 4 sons, Dale (Jennifer) Gauck, Greensburg, James (Carrie) Gauck, Excelsior Springs, MO., Kenny (Ellen) Gauck, Greensburg, Rick Gauck, Greensburg; 5 daughters, Patti (Rick) Westerfeld, Greensburg, Janet (Roger) Swain, Vincennes, Lois (Gary) Nobbe, Greensburg, Carol (James) Shaver, New Palestine, Jane (Paul) Hammersmith, Greensburg; 1 sister, Dorothy Coghlan, Redding, Ca.; 28 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Quirin Gauck; 2 sisters, Rosemary Raven, Romilda Eckstein; 1 granddaughter, Krista Eldridge. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A rosary service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the St. Maurice Catholic Church with Rev. John Nestor officiating. Internment will be held in the St. Maurice Cemetery.
