Birth: 1923 Death: 2007 Lavera Marie Mansberger Okey, 84 DUNCAN FALLS - Lavera Marie Mansberger Okey, 84, of Okey Road, Chandlersville, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, at The Summerville at North Hills in Zanesville. Lavera was born on April 24, 1923, in Muskingum County, the daughter of the late Floyd and Verna Long Mansberger. She was a devoted house wife and sold Watkins Products for years. Lavera was a member of the Salt Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her two sons, Gary and Dorothy Okey of Chandlersville and Randy Okey of New York City; three grandchildren, Shelby and Mark Scott, Eric and Kristen Okey and Andrea Okey; four great-grand children, Zane and Zeke Scott, and Nathan and Megan Okey; one brother, Hillis and Marcia Jones of Zanesville; and two sisters, Mary and Ernie Shepherd of Granville and Marlene and Alvie Richardson of Zanesville; and a brother-in-law, Carl Orwig of Zanesville; and good friends and neighbors, Mitch and Linda Hatfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Okey, who passed away June 16, 1993; and a sister, Evelyn Orwig. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main St., Duncan Falls. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2007, at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Winner officiating. Burial will follow in Chandlersville Cemetery.
