Birth: Aug. 24, 1927 Marietta Washington County Ohio, USA Death: Jan. 29, 2008, USA U.S. Air Force (Ret.). He attended Ohio State University & Kent State University. In 1946 he was drafted in the 595th U.S. Army Air Force Band in Guan until his discharge in 1947. Returning to OSU, he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1952, and became Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Operative Dentistry. In 1962 he was commissioned as a Major in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. A lengthy military career, he received many awards and commendations, including the Legion of Merit. After retirement, he spent 10 years as a real estate broker. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Dickson; his children, Janet Kirk and husband, Jeff, Jeanne Jankus and husband, Al, Patricia Lancaster, Phillip Dickson, Beth Moffatt and husband, Michael, Cathy Beavers and husband, Robert, and Cindy Neathery; the mother of his children, Joyce Frazer; 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. Interment with full military honors followed funeral services conducted Saturday, February 9, 2008.
