Birth: Jun. 27, 1913 Ashley McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Death: Feb. 16, 1986 Yakima Yakima County Washington, USA ASHLEY TRIBUNE, Ashley, ND, 26 Feb 1986 - William Doerr, 72, of Yakima, Washington, died, February 16, 1986, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1913, to Jacob G. and Christina (George) Doerr in Ashley, where he was raised and educated. On August 29, 1939, he married Bertha Gohring in Bismarck. While in Ashley, Mr. Doerr was employed as a cream buyer. In Bismarck, he worked as a shipping clerk for Ed Phillips & Sons Wholesale Liquor Distributors. He moved to Yakima in 1956 and became a shipping clerk for McKesson-Robbins Pharmaceutical Company until retiring in the late 1970s. Mr. Doerr was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was interested in athletics and was an avid fan of the Yakima Beetles. Survivors include a brother, Walter Doerr, Ashley, several nieces and nephews, including Jim Doerr of Yakima, Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, on April 5, 1970; and by five brothers; August, Edward, Albert, John and Henry Doerr. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 1986, at the Chapel of Shaw & Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
