  [S927] Obituary. Agnes Rose Geiss, 91, Mandan, passed away February 10, 2017, at her home in Mandan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017, from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Agnes was born on February 26, 1925, to Anton and Rose (Schaff) Glaser in Mandan, ND. She and her family lived on a farm in the Solen area, in Bismarck, then in 1942 they moved to Mandan. Agnes worked hard helping to support her family. Her strong work ethic and ability to set priorities (at the age of 15) afforded her the opportunity to buy her mother her first washing machine, only then did she buy herself a new bike. She worked various places in Mandan including: the New Palace Café, Central Drug, and the NP Beanery. It was at the Beanery that she met the love of her life, Gabriel "Bing" Geiss and they were married on May 14, 1952. At Bing's insistence, she stayed home and was a homemaker and full-time mother when their daughter, Gloria, was born. Agnes was an excellent cook and loved to bake. Her chicken with cream gravy, and peach kuchen were family favorites. Agnes enjoyed knitting, embroidering, and traveling with her daughter. She also loved taking care of her flowers and yard. Agnes will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Thomas Little, Mandan, ND, her granddaughter, Jessica (Paul Kleving) Little, Phoenix, AZ, many nieces & nephews, and by the countless people she took into her heart and warmly considered part of her family. She loved everyone and had a way of making people feel special --- because she was so special Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Rose; husband, Bing (July 12, 1989); sisters, Catherine Tolliver, Elizabeth Renner and Rosemary Rader; brothers, Liberaitus, Thomas, Richard and Raymond Glaser.
