Agatha Monica Leingang, 83, Mandan, entered eternal life on April 4, 2002, at her residence. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be said at 4 p.m. and a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Agatha was born June 29, 1918, at Fallon, the daughter of John and Francis (Beehler) Berger. She was raised and educated in Fallon. On Nov. 14, 1939, she married Joseph J. Leingang in Fort Yates. They farmed in the Solen area until 1954, when they moved to Fort Rice. They farmed near Fort Rice until they moved to Mandan in 1961.
Amongst her interests, Agatha enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and took pride in her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of Spirit of Life Parish and the Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, Tim and Bonnie, Mandan, Andy and Terry, Bismarck, Eddy, Marana, Ariz., Walter and LaDonna, Bismarck, and Tom and Leanne, Monroe, Wash.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Johnny Bader, Pierre, S.D., and Diane and Bruce Gensburger, Janice and George Belohlavek, Linda and Alvin Skager, and Phyllis and Roger Dirk, all of Mandan; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and expecting two; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Regina Berger, Yakima, Wash., Pete and Ann Berger, Mandan, Edward and Betty Berger, Kirkland, Wash., and William and Hilda Berger, Rapid City, S.D.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Veronica Barnhard, Solen, Angeline and Emil Ternes, Milton, Wash., and Josephine and Don Ripplinger, Mandan; and two special friends, Margaret Weigel and Mert Hoch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Joseph J., who died on Dec. 27, 1988; four infant children; one daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and David Wetsch; two grandsons; two brothers, Adam and Florian; and two sisters, Barbara and Hildagard.
