Robert N. Burkhart, 77, of Lewisville, Ohio (Marr, Community) passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, near Graysville, Ohio.
He was born near Calais, Ohio, on Oct. 4, 1939, a son of the late William Adam Burkhart and Esta Marie Christman Burkhart.
He was a retired construction worker, oil field worker and farmer. He was a member of Woodsfield Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio. Bob enjoyed raising, owning and racing harness horses. He was also a former Monroe County Fair Board member.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nira Martin Burkhart on Feb. 11, 2011; and a sister, Carolyn Burkhart in infancy.
Surviving are three daughters, Twila (Bob) Dougherty of Lewisville, Ohio, Judy (Nathan) Moyer of Belmont, Ohio, and Barb Hart of Lewisville, Ohio; three brothers, John (Nancy) Burkhart of Lewisville, Ohio, Larry (Wanda) Burkhart of Lewisville, Ohio, and Don (Lannie) Burkhart of Lewisville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Adam (Jaime) Dougherty, Samantha (Adam) Farnsworth, Kelly Dougherty, Robby Hart and Olivia Moyer; four great grandchildren, Corbin and Isabella Farnsworth and Grayson and Hayes Dougherty; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, with Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Creighton Ridge Cemetery near Sycamore Valley, Ohio.
