Funeral services for Phillip Mauch, 59, of 1066 Monroe street, who died Wednesday at Mercy hospital after a four-year illness, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Clay Street Baptist church, of which Mr. Mauch was a member.
The body was taken from the Dean mortuary at noon to like in state at the church until the hour of the services, which were conducted by the Rev. Eric Gutsche.
The church quartet, composed of Gust Maikowski, Gust Goltz, Len Greiser and Otto Rennhack, sang two selections, "Nearer Home," and "The Far-Away Land."
Casket bearers were Conrad Sommerfeldt, Otto Rennhack, Dan Bittner, Gust Mahs, Gust Wetter and William Gatchel.
Interment was in Crystal Springs cemetery.

Phillip MAUCH born 13 August 1884 in Worms, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Johann Karl MAUCH and Anna Marie BERRETH.
Phillip at the age of 16 with his with his parents and sister Maria, immigrated to North America via the Port of Bremen, Germany on the 9th of October 1900 aboard the SS "Aller" and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on the 19th of October 1900.
Phillip married Magdalena "Lena" FELCHLE on the 10th of November 1905 in Goodrich, Sheridan County, North Dakota. The couple was blessed with no less than 8 children; Katharina L, Otto L, Edward O, Pauline E, Otilia A, Herman H, Alma C and Aleta F.
