From Obituary in paper. Sister Catherine Mosbrucker, 81, Gettysburge, SD, died Nov 27, 1995, at the Gettysburg Memorial Hospital following a massive stroke. Eucharist of the Resurrection services were held Dec 2, at 11 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gettysburg with the Rev. Tom Hillenbrand officiating. Burial was at the Mother of God Monastery Cemetery in Water town, SD under the direction of the Luce Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Sister Catherine (Elizabeth) Mosbrucker was born Jan 29, 1914 on a farm near Glen Ullin to Adolph and Pauline Deitrich Mosbrucker. After graduating from the eight grade at Sacred Heart School in Glen Ullin, she entered Sacred Heart Convent in Yankton, SD, June 17, 1928. She made her first profession of vows, Aug 15, 1932. Later she was selected as one of the founding members of Mother of God Priory at Pierre, SD in 1961. She celebrated the diamond jubilee of her profession in 1992.. Forty eight of her 67 years in religious life she ministered in health care in Yankton, Pierre, Gregory and Watertown, all in SD and in Crosby and Bismarck. She also ministered in St. Cloud, MN. She served in many capacities in nursing, was acting director of the Pierre School of Nursing for one year and was administrator of Maryhouse Nursing Home for three years. As an instructor, she served on the faculty of several schools of nursing and was operating room supervisor at St. Ann's Hospital in Watertown from 1969 until she returned to the Monastery in 1981. After her retirement from nursing, she managed the laundry services at the monastery until 1993. She is survived by two sisters, Katherine (Pete) Jaeger of Dickinson, JoAnn (Glen, Jr) Watts of Anacortes, WA.. Seven brothers, Joachim "JC" of Mandan, Joseph of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Innocent of Santa Anna Heights, CA, Stephen of Dickinson, John of Valley City , Nick of Dickinson, William of Gree Bay, Wis, and her Sisters at Mother of God Monastery in Watertown, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and two sisters. (Luce Funeral Home)
