Mass of Christian Burial for Hilda Lutz, 81, of Mott, ND will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Dennis Schafer will officiate and burial will follow at the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott.
Visitations will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary/Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Vincent's Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 14 and one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday morning.
Hilda Eileen Jesch was born on April 13, 1934 to Pete and Lena (Flohr) Jesch in the Lefor area in North Dakota. They lived in the Lefor area until 1942 when they moved to a farm four miles north of Regent, ND. Hilda's parents operated a cafe known as the P & L Cafe in Regent. Hilda attended school in Regent and worked at the Cafe.
Hilda married Robert A. "Bob" Lutz in St. Henry's Catholic Church in Regent on November 17, 1953. Bob and Hilda ran the Regent Cafe for 3 years. They moved five miles north of Mott on Bob's dad's farm. Later they built a new home in Mott in 1967 and lived there until 2000.
Hilda moved to an apartment until 2011. After open heart surgery, she moved into the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Center in Mott in January 2012. Her family is truly thankful and blessed for the wonderful care given to her at Good Samaritan.
Hilda passed away at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Mott, ND on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
Hilda's hobbies included baking, vegetable and flower gardening, garage sales, playing cards and visiting and was a devoted member of the St. Vincent's Altar Society.
Grateful for having shared in Hilda's life are her son, Dean (Becky) Lutz, Dickinson, ND; daughters-in-law, Connie Lutz, Grand Forks, ND; Arlene (Brad) Pozarnsky, Bottineau, ND; grandchildren, Tyler Lutz, Bismarck, ND; NaTasha (Jason) Sawicki, Wilton, ND; Chastity Pierce, Grand Forks, ND; Rhiannon Degn, Jefferson City, MO; Grace Hudson, Jefferson City, MO; Angela (Ben) Beardemphl, Grand Forks, ND; and Christopher Lutz, Dickinson, ND; great grandchildren, Fayth, Kennedy, Harper, Katelyn and "Baby" Sawicki, due in November 2015. Hilda is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mildred Jesch, Dickinson, ND; Arlo Jones, Mott, ND; Rita Barth, Hebron, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Lutz, sons, Dennis Lutz and Dale Lutz, her parents, Pete and Lena Jesch, her brothers, Nick, John, Pete and an infant brother and two sisters, Bernadine and Helen.
