Steve moved to Dickinson and started his bricklaying career with Shorty Turner. He continued in that profession for over 50 years. He married Rose Oster on May 6, 1947. Steve was a square dancer, and also instructed and was a caller. He was involved in the formulation of the Cub Baseball Program, Toastmasters, and was a Cub Scout Leader. He belonged to the St. Anthony, Knights of Columbus and the Eagles. He loved fishing, dancing, woodworking and playing cards.
