Bio: Ralph Titus Sr., 73, of Mesa, Arizona, and formerly of Evansville, was called home by the Lord on May 16, 2007. He was born on November 2, 1933. Ralph was a 1952 graduate of Central High School, and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1989 from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service. He was a past president of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 377. He also served as Post Commander of American Legion Eugene Pate Post 265.Ralph loved to camp and travel. He loved watching sports, and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and billiards, having just recently won a billiard tourney in Mesa.Ralph enjoyed his time instructing young adults as a swimming instructor at the YMCA, a Boy Scout Master, and coaching church league basketball at Trinity Lutheran.He was preceded in death by his parents, Rexford and Flora (Borden) Titus, and an infant son, Kenneth Titus.Ralph leaves behind a loving family, and many friends, who will miss him dearly.He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann (Guinn); a daughter, Mary Katherine Welborn of Nashville, Tennessee; sons, Ralph Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Timothy and his wife, Angela, Jeffrey and his wife, Tracey, all of Evansville, and Keith and his wife, Sandy, of Wellton, Arizona.Ralph is also survived by his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papaw," Lori Landrum, David Magary, Bradley, Andrew, Matthew, Beth, Steven and Kevin Titus, David Ostrom, and Daniel Sander. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Billy, Rachel and Nicholas Landrum; sisters, Naomi Faire of Evansville and Wanda Hayes of Louisville, Kentucky; and six nieces and six nephews.As per his wishes, Ralph will be cremated in Arizona.There will be a memorial service on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Alexander East Chapel, at 11 a.m., officiated by Brian Holtz. There will be a visitation today, May 23, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 24, 2007, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 6100 West 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46077.
