Birth: Apr. 10, 1925 Almont Morton County North Dakota, USA Death: Apr. 15, 2004 Bismarck Burleigh County North Dakota, USA Obituary Bismarck Tribune (April 17, 2004) NEW SALEM -- Julia "Goldie" Renner, 79, New Salem, formerly of Almont, died April 15, 2004, at a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Chad Gion officiating. Burial will be in Almont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Elm Crest Manor, New Salem, and continues from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Almont, with vigil services at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services at St. Pius V Catholic Church, New Salem. Goldie was born April 10, 1925, south of Almont, the daughter of Theodore and Anna (Golla) Stiler. She was raised and started her education at Almont, but graduated from Beulah High School. She taught school in the Almont and Glen Ullin area. On Feb. 17, 1944, she married Lawrence Renner in Richardton. Lawrence and Goldie later moved into Almont, where she clerked at the Post Office and was Postmaster for 23 years. Goldie retired in 1979. She loved to read, knit and play bingo. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, Almont; one son, Danny (Donna), Bismarck; three daughters, Mary Ann (Tharen) Kilen, Mandan, Kathy (Dean) Bachler, Almont, and Julie (Brad) Timpe, Mandan; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Stella Tibor, Hebron.
