Marie Joan Zins, 59, Grafton, died Nov. 12, 2009, at Unity Medical Center, Grafton.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Flasher, with Rev. Daniel Berg as celebrant. Burial was at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Flasher.
Marie was born on Nov. 20, 1949, to Eugene and Lucy (Kuntz) Zins.
Having lived in the Grafton Developmental Center most of her life, she treasured the many friends and enjoyed all the social activities there. Over the years this became her home. She had a collection of red hats and statues of angels. Marie was a member of the Red Hat Society and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She most of all looked forward to going out shopping and enjoying the simple pleasure of eating out. She in turn would make trips to the Bismarck-Mandan area to be with her brothers and sisters.
Marie will be deeply missed by her sisters, Veronica (David) Miller, St. Louis Park, Minn., Martha (Lee) Williams, Fort Worth, Texas, and Gertrude Zins, Hazen; brothers, Bernard (Jenny), Bismarck, Jerome “Jerry” (Bev), McKenzie, Roger, Raleigh, Leo (Shirley), Tifton, Ga., David, Mandan, Simon (Charlene), New Salem, and Arnold (Carolyn), Mandan; sisters in law, Barbara Zins, Bismarck, and Linda Zins, Dickinson; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Al and Francis.
