Birth: Jul. 3, 1923 Fredonia Logan County North Dakota, USA Death: Aug. 16, 2014 Ellendale Dickey County North Dakota, USA Louie Ketterling, 91 of Ellendale, ND died August 16, 2014 at his home in Ellendale after a long illness. Private services will be held at a later date. He was born in Fredonia, N.D., on July 3, 1923, to Daboldt and Elizabeth (Gall) Ketterling. They lived in Fredonia until 1935, and then moved to LaMoure, N.D. Louie was married on Oct. 17, 1948, to Olga Wachter. To this union four children were born: Steven Ketterling, Judy Dosch, Michael Ketterling and Dennis Ketterling. Louie also had 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ellendale and held a position as a deacon for many years. He loved his God and his children and grandchildren very deeply and this love was returned to him by them. Louie worked for LaMoure County Road Construction until 1967. He then moved to Ellendale, where he worked at the Ellendale Farmers Union until he retired in 1987. He lived on the farm until 1997, when he sold the farm to his son Michael.
