Elsie M. Chappell passed away Dec. 5, 2011, in Pueblo. Elsie was born June 9, 1925, in Hooker, Okla., to Lorenz and Jacie Kreiger. Elsie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 7, as well as the Church of God in Pueblo, where she played the piano and organ for many years. She loved and nurtured her garden of roses, beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables and was talented in sewing and crafts of any kind. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years and eight months, William N. "Bill" Chappell; as well as two sisters and one brother. Her survivors include her sons, Michael (Judy) Chappell and Patrick (Patti) Chappell; granddaughter, Michelle (Jay) Bedford; great-grandchildren, Cassie and Jacob Bedford; her sister, Dorothy Luellen; and sisters-in-law, Loretta Bradburn and Lena (Elmer) Briles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family expresses a special thank you to Dr. Chris Smith, "Dr. Deb" Urioste and all of the staff at the Life Care Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, in the Davis Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Dan Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery.
