Michael E. Paulson, 64 of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26. He is survived by his mother, Beth Paulson; daughter, Robin Paulson; sister, Judi Ward; and brother, Steve Paulson. A service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home.
Michael E. Paulson, 64 went to be with the LORD Saturday, November 26, 2016. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 16, 1952 to Virgil and Beth Paulson. Mike is predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother of Little Rock; his daughter, Robin Paulson of Miramar Beach, Florida; his sister, Judi Ward and husband, Malcolm and his brother, Steve Paulson all of Austin, Texas; and two grandsons, Chris Paulson and Will Paulson both of Miramar Beach, Florida.
A simple and unpretentious man, Mike sought to be the eternal encourager. He remained a diligent student of The Word and, beyond seeking his own salvation and relationship to God, wished only to lovingly share with others about that same importance for themselves. He truly believed that our ultimate purpose on earth was to lead others to Christ and he proved to be a great source of support for so many in that process. He tirelessly prayed for others and actively expressed his support for others to seek a closer relationship with the Lord.
He shared his love and wisdom as a father and as a reflection of the Heavenly Father. He freely shared his feelings and always spoke kindness and encouragement as if it could be his very last chance.
He had a great sense of humor - sometimes snarky and almost never politically correct, but funny. He loved music and playing the guitar. He loved to study the Bible and spent many hours listening to the truth of God’s Word from John MacArthur, his favorite Pastor.
Mike had an uncanny realization that the greatest impact he could have on this world was to prepare those around him not only for when he’d no longer be here, but for eternity. He left so many treasures of biblical and fatherly wisdom. God undoubtedly and successfully worked through Mike to accomplish His purposes.
The apostle Paul said, “To live is Christ and to die is gain.” Mike Paulson LIVED with the thought that he was always READY to die in the flesh to live forever in the spirit with the Lord. He had no fear of death and was excited for the day he would be in heaven. His confidence in the face of death continues to provide strength and joy for his family.
His daughter recently wrote, “I don’t think I could do life without you,” He replied, “You can when that day comes. God’s grace is sufficient in all things. As much as I love you, God’s love is infinitely greater. And He is yours forever. That’s hard for us to comprehend but true.”
Mike Paulson was a man of God, a hero and a best friend to his daughter and a light for many others. We take joy in knowing that he met his Maker and the Lord said, "I am most pleased, my good and faithful servant". Mike crossed the finish line, won the race…and God took him home.
