Elda A Nagel-Rammer-Widder-Mewes
Elda A. Widder-Mewes, 84 years, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Greenwood Health & Rehab Center.
Born July 4, 1921, in Sheboygan, Elda was the daughter of the late Lewis and Hulda (Luckow) Nagel.
She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and Sheboygan public schools. She was a lifelong resident of Sheboygan, and a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Elda was united in marriage to Gordon Joseph Rammer Sr Feb. 28, 1941 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sheboygan. They had a son, Lewis that later changed his name to Lewis Edgar Widder.
Her 2nd husband was Donald P. Widder on Nov. 9, 1947, in West Bend. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1974.
She married Raymond B. Mewes on Oct. 5, 1975, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He passed away July 23, 1985.
She was employed at Kohler Co., Ross Glove, and then as a seamstress at Wilson Brothers.
Elda took great pleasure and satisfaction being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed tending her flowers and plants, caring for her dogs, and crocheting and making afghans.
Elda is survived by a son, Lewis E. (Janice) Widder of Sheboygan; a sister, Florence Nass of Racine; a stepson, Alan (Maureen) Widder; a brother-in-law, Edgar Krueger of Sheboygan; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Irmgard Krueger.
The funeral service for Elda A. Widder-Mewes will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave., Sheboygan, with Rev. James L. Hartman officiating.
Interment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation of family and friends will precede the funeral from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in Elda's name.
The family of Elda A. Widder-Mewes expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff at Greendale Health & Rehab Center for the compassionate care they gave to Elda. Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home is serving the family.
