She married James Lester on Jan. 16, 1976; he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2000.She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lee Lerner Jr.She is survived by four daughters, Mary S. Younkin of O'Fallon, Mo., Geraldine Hill of Sacramento, Calif., and Jeanne A. Harvill and Karen E. (Rick) Schaub, both of Springfield; three sons, L. Leroy (Sharon) Swinyer of Jacksonville, Fla., Lawrence L. (Paula) Swinyer of Champaign and Louis "Bud" (Diana) Swinyer of Collinsville; stepson, Michael J. (Barb) Lester of Lincoln; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha A. Smith of Irving, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Marge was a resident of Springfield since 1945. She worked at Parts Plus (Menco/Sasco) in payroll.She attended Ursuline Academy in Dallas. She then moved to Springfield in 1945 to attend Springfield Junior College. She was a member of Christ the King Church, Legion of Mary and Altar Society, St. Louise deMarillac. She enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting, and watching auto racing. She was a former organist at St. Peter and Paul Church.Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Christ the King Church, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Marge's body will lie in state from 10 to 10:30 a.m. with a funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Christ the King Church, with the Rev. Christopher House officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.Memorials may be made to St. John's Hospice Program or American Cancer Society.Staab Funeral is in charge of arrangements.StaabObituary.com.
