Anne Lerner Kusnerik went to be at home with Our Lord in Heaven on September 28th 2009.

Anne Elizabeth Lerner was born January 27, 1929 to Francis Joseph Lerner and Lillian Graner Lerner of Henrietta, Texas. She attended elementary and high school in Henrietta where she graduated salutatorian of her class in 1946. She entered nursing training at St. Paul 's School of Nursing in Dallas and received her RN in 1949. Anne worked as Head Nurse at Clay County Memorial Hospital in Henrietta, Texas. She then moved to New Orleans for a short time and worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital. She returned to Texas to work at Wichita Falls Clinics Hospital where she met her future husband, John C. Kusnerik while he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base. In January 1955 in Henrietta Texas, they were joined together by God in marriage. After a honeymoon in St. Louis Missouri, they moved to Champagne, Illinois where she continued her nursing career. They moved to Galveston, Texas in 1957, where they settled to continue their 54-year marriage and begin their family, being blessed with six loving children.
Anne was a dedicated and faithful servant of Our Lord. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Altar Society and Bible Studies Group. She offered countless hours of talent, time and treasure to helping the needy and the poor. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels program and benefactor to Our Daily Bread and other charitable organizations. She was a long time member of the Theta Delta Beta Sorority, known for their charitable works.
Anne received numerous recognitions/awards for her outstanding performance and dedication during the continuation of her nursing career with the U.S. Dept of Public Health Hospital in Galveston and Nassau Bay, as well as St. Mary's Hospital and the Turner Geriatric Center in Galveston.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Francis Lerner, and her sister, Frances Harwell, Anne is survived by her adoring husband, John Kusnerik, six children and their families; son, David Kusnerik, daughter, Lisa Frugia (Ronnie), son, Brian Kusnerik (Lori), son, Barry Kusnerik (Alice), son, John Scott Kusnerik (Margie), and daughter, Karen Owen (Jeff). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamie Garza (Elliot), Melissa Frugia (Mike), Shelby Frugia, Alexis, Emily, Andrew and Grace Kusnerik, Kelsey and Katelin Kusnerik, Frannie and John Kusnerik, and Ross Owen. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Laelah and Haley Garza and Laney Dienst. Anne is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Morath of Wichita Falls and brothers, James Lerner of Council Grove, Kansas and John Lerner of Henrietta, Texas as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of family friends
The family would like to thank Barbara Hayes and the rest of the SICU staff at the University of Texas Medical Branch for their love and support of Anne in her final days on Earth.
Pallbearers will be Barry Kusnerik, Brian Kusnerik, David Kusnerik, Scott Kusnerik, Ross Owen and Jamie Frugia. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Lerner, John Lerner, Pete Urbani, John Ryder and Pete Parsons.
