Eva Korber was born in Drake, N.D. on Oct. 22, 1922, to William and Anna (Heintz) Gress. She married her sweetheart, Louis Korber (Scorp), on Dec. 23, 1943. They moved to Florida since Scorp was stationed at Eglin Field Air Force Base. Their first daughter, Sandra, was born there. They returned to Montana later and spend most of their lives around the Hardin and Billings area. They had four more daughters, Shari, Debra, Connie, and Jo Dallas.
Scorp worked on many different ranches around the area as a cowboy. Eva was a good cowboy's wife and followed him wherever he went. She spent a lot of her early years of marriage cooking meals for the cowboys that Scorp worked with. She made a lot of friends along the way with her gentle smile and kindness. Eva was a homemaker most of her life and was busy raising her five girls.
Eva went to meet with her Lord on March 11, 2012. She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Ron Knight), Shari (Ken Kurtz), Debra Slaughter, and Connie (Doug Daum); brother Marcus; sisters Barbara, Katherine, Rosie, Francis; grandchildren, Tari, Tami, Mark, Brian, Russ, DJ, Stephanie, Leeanna, and Michael; and several great-grandchildren. She also had many, many nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Jo Dallas; her parents; brothers George, Antone, Peter, William Jr., Benny, Frank, Mike, Johnny, Bobby; and sisters Gustina, Annie and Margaret.
Interment of cremains will take place at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Hardin.
