Memorial services for Wendel Kerth Nicolaus, co-founder of mens clothing store in his native Sacramento, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Berkeley. Inturnment will be in the family plot in Sacramento City Cemetery.
Nicolaus died Monday in Berkeley where he had lived since leaving Sacramento.
The co-founder of Robert Kirk's Men Clothes belonged to the University Club, Rotary Club, Grid Club in San Francisco, Claremont Country Club and Berkeley Tennis Club.
Surviving are his wife Margaret D.; son Wendel Nicolaus Jr.; daughter Polly Nicolaus; brother Edward Nicolaus; sisters Mary Stephens, Betty Grey and Jeanne Caywood, all of Sacramento, and one grandchild.
The family requests that any remembrances be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Albert Brown Mortuary in Oakland has charge of arrangements.

Wendel Nicolaus
Services will be held Thursday for Wendel Nicolaus, 74, a native Sacramentan, who died Monday (Jan. 15) in Berkeley.
Mr. Nicolaus, a second-generation Sacramentan, was reared here and attended area schools before moving to the Bay Area. In 1939, he cofounded Robert Kirk Ltd., a clothing store, and was a member of several Bay Area organizations including the San Francisco Rotary and Grid clubs and Berkeley Tennis Club. He last resided in Berkeley.
Survivors include his wife Margaret; son Wendel Nicolaus Jr.; daughter Polly Nicolaus; brother Edward Nicolaus; sisters Mary Stephens, Betty Grey and Jeanne Caywood, all of Sacramento, and one grandchild.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. in St. Clements Episcopal Church at 2837 Claremont Blvd., Berkeley. Burial will be in the family plot at the Sacramento City Cemetery.
The family prefers remembrances be directed to the American Cancer Society.
