Birth: May 2, 1896 Sacramento County California, USA Death: Jul. 6, 1985 Sacramento County California, USA Edna Desmond, a lifelong resident of Sacramento county died on Saturday, 6 Jul 1985. She was eighty-four years old. Mrs. Desmond was born in Franklin and attended Holy Rosary Convent in Woodland. She was the daughter of Louis H. Nicolaus, the founder and first president of the Buffalo Brewery. Her grandparents were among the early pioneers of Sacramento and a portion their family home is now the Old Spaghetti Factory on J Street. Mrs Desmond was preceded in death by her husband Earl D. Desmond, the former assemblyman and state senator from Sacramento, who died in 1958. She was survived by three sons, Richard F., Louis N., and Michael J. Desmond; three daughters, Mary Sweigert Mastalski, Denise Franzoia, and Clare Lagomarsino; one sister, Vera Flint; thirty-five grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
