Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 1, in the Baptist Home Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Dyck officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey.Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and continues one hour prior to the service at the Baptist Home.Bertha was born May 28, 1913, south of Anamoose, to John and Mary (Zarbok) Metz. She was raised and educated in Martin where she graduated from high school. Bertha received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at 22 years of age, on June 10, 1934. She was baptized by immersion, three months later.On Nov. 26, 1962, she married Julius Heizelman. He died Oct. 23, 1986. During her working years, she worked as a sales clerk, for Gamble Skogmo, the Dime Store, Warren's and as a dental assistant for Dr. Grauman and Dr. Faul from January 1950 to September 1967. Bertha loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was looking forward to going Home. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Harvey.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Julius, and one sister, Lydia Gomke.
