Russell J. Ketterling, 62, Bismarck, passed away July 15, 2013, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with Salvation Army Capt. Tim Sell officiating. Burial will be at Heil Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until time of service at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan.
Russell was born April 16, 1951, at Elgin, to Alvin and Hazel (Sebastian) Ketterling. He was raised and educated in Elgin, where he graduated from high school. He worked at Tierney Chevrolet and Medcenter One, and volunteered for the Salvation Army. He enjoyed watching TV, walking and reading westerns.
Russell is survived by five sisters, Karen (Frank) Brandt, Elizabeth (Glen) Miller, Candace (Raymond) Gaylord, Colleen (Fredrick) Eslinger and Philys (Grant) Gearhard; five brothers, Charles (Sandra), Perry (Pamela), Merritt (Marsha), Terrill and Rance (Debra) Ketterling; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends, LeRoy Tietz and Dan and Darly Ensz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carol (Jack) Harkey; and one nephew, Brian Harkey.
