Harry Ketterling, 86, LaMoure, N.D., died Monday, July 4, 2005, at his home under hospice care.
Mr. Ketterling was born June 8, 1919, on a farm near Fredonia, N.D., the son of Deboldt and Elizabeth (Gall) Ketterling. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during 1940 in Custer, S.D. He entered the U.S. Army in July 1941, serving overseas during World War II. After being honorably discharged in October 1945, he returned home and began farming. He married Esther Jawaski on March 20, 1947. The couple lived and farmed in Monango, N.D. until moving to the family homestead near LaMoure in 1957. He farmed until he retired in 1982. In 1986, they moved into LaMoure. He enjoyed fishing on the James River.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gene (Becky), Olathe, Kan., and Rob (Zale), Edgeley, N.D.; two daughters, Sharon (Gerry) Burgess, Knoxville, Tenn., and Linda (Neil) Ness, LaMoure; seven brothers, Lawrence and Henry, both LaMoure, Albert (Esther) and Daboldt (Velda), both Jamestown, Louie (Olga), Ellendale, N.D., Palmer, Red Wing, Minn., and Alvin, Mesa, Ariz.; four sisters, Ella Beglow, Jamestown, Deloris Anderson, Marion, N.D., Edna (James) McLeod, Nanjimay, Md., and Marceal Nannenga, Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Edward, John and Arthur.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Church of the Nazarene, LaMoure, with the Rev. Scott Henry officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. today, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure.
Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial: Rosehill Cemetery near LaMoure.

Harry Ketterling, 86, LaMoure, N.D., died Monday, July 4, 2005, at his home under hospice care.
