Birth: Nov. 15, 1933 Minnesota, USA Death: Mar. 2, 2002 The Dalles Wasco County Oregon, USA 6 Mar 2002 Hood River News DOLORES MAE HOFFMAN Dolores Mae Hoffman passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002, at her home in The Dalles, Ore. She was 68 years of age. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hood River, Ore. A private family Graveside Service will be at Idlewild Cemetery in Hood River. Delores Mae Hoffman was born Nov. 15, 1933, to Earl and Margaret (Feuker) Klein in Grand Forks, Minn. She graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1951 and then entered Grand Forks Deaconess School of Nursing. She was a student nurse at the school when she met Leonard L. Hoffman, a medical student. They were married Jan. 31, 1953, and she began her career as a homemaker. In 1956 they moved to Hood River and Leonard started his medical practice. In addition to caring for her children, Dolores enjoyed painting, gardening, reading, animals, and observing nature. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hood River for many years. Dolores enjoyed traveling and took several trips to Israel as well as visiting Puerto Rico, Egypt, Europe, and Hawaii. In 1999 Mrs. Hoffman moved to The Dalles. She enjoyed visiting with friends over breakfast at the Pancake House. One of the biggest highlights of her life was playing with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Dolores Hoffman is survived by her mother, Margaret Klein, of LaGrande, Ore., her sons Don and his wife Lorinda of Hood River, and Erlynn and his wife, Melissa, of Enterprise, Ore., daughter Dea Hoffman of LaGrande, Ore., grandsons Andy Hoffman, Trever Hoffman, and Jakob Hoffman, and granddaughter Joanna Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard L. in 1985, and her father Earl in 1991. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Gorge or Friends of the Library c/o Anderson's Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont, Hood River, OR 97031.
