He married Virginia Tanksley on January 6, 1962 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, two grandsons, his mother, two brothers, William and Charles and a sister, Mary Fidler. He was a member of the St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Iron Workers Local 22. He was an iron worker for Hugh J. Baker and Company.
