High St., died Monday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland. Born April 28, 1898, in Carpenter, she was a daughter of Henry and Helena Bekemeyer Kessman. She was married to Eugene H. Schmidt on Nov. 23, 1919, at St. Louis. He died in 1963. Survivors are a son, Clifford E. Schmidt, and a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Emogene) Beck, both of Edwardsville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Henry Kessman of Edwardsville and Edward Kessman of Detroit, and sisters Mrs. Alvina Halbe, Mrs. Clara Wade and Matilda Kessman, all of Edwardsville, Mrs. Minnie Scheibe of Prairietown, Mrs. Hilda Gagliardo of Wood River and Mrs. Rose Schoenleber of Washington state. In addition to her parents and husband, two daughters preceded her in death. Friends may call at the Pletcher Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The Rev. Donald E. Crismon of Eden United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marlin Wagner, Marvin Schoenleber, Orville Scheibe, Jerry Wade, Charles Nelson and Roy Halbe.
