Hope, 59, 16 O'Hara Crescent, died in his home Dec. 20, 1949 after a brief illness.He was born in Stowell, Pa., Jan. 21, 1890, to Francis and Mary Kinsley Hope. He attended school in Stowell and on Sept. 21, 1922 he married Emma Axman at Jersey shore, Pa. He was in the employ of New York Central Railways as an accountant and was transferred to Utica in 1929. For the past eight years he lived in New Hartford.Mr. Hope attended Our Lady of Lourdes Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Men's Club and the Railway Clerks Union. He was a descendant of early Irish settlers in the Scranton diocese.Besides his widow, he leaves a daughter, Mary Regina Hope, Whalen; a son, Francis Hope, Schenectady; a sister, Mrs. Patrick McHugh, Mahoppany (sic), Pa, a brother: Patrick Hope, Linden, Pa., and three grandchildren.Funeral services will be held from the Stevens Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., at 8:30 a.m. Friday and at 9 from Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
